Dialogue

Let's take care of the environment

Karen: Juan, thanks for waiting for me, I just got back from summer camp, I'm tired!

Juan: Really? How amazing, I've never been to a summer camp.

Karen: Yes, for three years I've been going to Yellowstone Camp. There are lots of fun places there, like waterfalls and mountains. I like to climb the mountains, someday we should both go!

Juan: Yeah, it would be fun, we could have picnics and swim in the lake, but I think those camps lasted all summer, are right?

Karen: Yes, but the forest was full of garbage, and they had to clean it up, so half the camp was cancelled.

Juan: This is  sad, i cant believe it, but the good thing is that next year it will be more beautiful, this reminds me of a lake that is close to the city, I like to go , it is very beautiful and has many fish.

Karen: I'm happy you like nature, what's the name of the lake?

Juan: Yes, the lake is called Titicaca,  every saturday my family were going that place

Karen: Amazing, but why did you stop going to the lake, I think you really liked to go.

Juan: I used to like to go, but a little years ago it got contaminated.

Karen: And how did it get contaminated?

Juan: I listen that a factory dumped garbage and contaminated the place.

Karen: I heard that news, it was the car factory.

Juan: Yes, But I still don't understand, how can it be that companies throw garbage into nature?

Karen: That's very true! there are laws that protect plants and animals, but many companies do it.

Juan: More and more companies do not respect the planet, but what are the other forms of pollution?

Karen: There are many ways, in the camp they taught us that it is overproduction.

Juan: I knew that pollution is bad, because it destroys ecosystems, and makes people poor and with little future, but I didn't know that it was so present in our city.

Karen: Yes, in fact in the last few years many companies are coming to damage the environment, according to them, "unconsciously".

Juan: That is true, so, how did the garbage get to your camp?

Karen: I don't know, I think that bad people dumped it in the place.

Juan: Well, your camp will be better if it is cleaned up, but there are many other places  in the same situation.

Karen: And how can we solve it?

Juan: I think by teaching people to take care of the environment, and we can also do recycling campaigns.

Karen: You are right, if we plant more trees and don't buy unnecessary things, we can solve it.

Juan: In our hands is the solution, let's all remember to think about our future.
